Heatmap Generator

Create heatmaps from row-column-value data matrices.

Last validated: 2026-02-14

Heatmap Generator transforms row-column-value data into an intensity matrix so patterns and hotspots are visible immediately. It is useful for regional performance grids, cohort analysis, staffing utilization, and product-category comparisons where tabular values are hard to scan quickly. The tool ingests `Row, Column, Value` lines, computes min/max, and colors cells by normalized intensity. Missing combinations remain visible so data gaps are easy to detect. Use it to compare many combinations at once and identify where values are unusually high or low.

Input Pattern

Enter values in the left panel, keep units explicit, run the calculation, then copy or share the result. Invalid fields are highlighted immediately.

Heatmap Inputs

Use Row, Column, Value on each line.

Heatmap

Min: 18 • Max: 42

Product A Product B
North 42 27
South 35 31
West 18 22

How to use this tool

  1. Provide data as `Row, Column, Value` lines for each matrix cell you want to populate.
  2. Click `Generate Heatmap` to build the intensity table and value range summary.
  3. Use darkest/lightest cells to identify hotspots, weak areas, and missing combinations.

Worked Example

Auto-generated from the tool's current default or entered inputs.

Example Inputs

  • Chart title: Heatmap
  • Data points: North, Product A, 42 North, Product B, 27 South, Product A, 35 South, Product B, 31 West, Product A, 18 West, Product B, 22

Expected Outputs

  • Cells 0 value: 42
  • Cells 0 intensity: 1
  • Cells 1 value: 27
  • Cells 1 intensity: 0.375
